Via Ferrata les balcons de l’Orb :
The upper and lower sections meet at the summit! This route has an escape route and is very well equipped for smaller climbers.
This new via ferrata is a condensed version of the good workshops found on other routes. The facilities are new and very well positioned for safe progress, so that even short people won’t be caught unawares.
Geographically, we’re on the Caussanel cliffs near the village of Le Bousquet de la Balme, 10 minutes from Bédarieux. Nature is wild and the quality of the rock is quite incredible. This via ferrata is aptly named Les balcons de l’Orb, for all along the way we can admire the river and the surrounding mountains of the Caroux massif.
Nearby, you can try your hand at rock-climbing on the Caussanel cliffs, or go canyoning 30 minutes away at the Rec Grand or Vialais canyons.
ON THE MENU
– Overhead passages.

Description
The via ferrata les balcons de l’Orb is new to the region. Many thanks to the openers, who did an excellent job. It’s a pleasure to be able to evolve on brand-new installations, well positioned to satisfy even the smallest climbers.
It’s a 20-minute walk from the via ferrata parking area. The parking lot is located just before the village of Le Bousquet de la Balme. This will be our meeting point, which you will receive by SMS when you book.
The Les Balcons de l’Orb via ferrata is in two parts. A lower and an upper section. An escape route between the two sections allows you to return to the parking lot just in case.
The two sections link up perfectly in two hours, depending on the group. You’ll encounter two monkey bridges, a 30-meter zip line and a magnificent footbridge on the upper section.
The special feature of this via ferrata is the quality of the rock on which the route was built. It’s a very grippy rock, sculpted with alveoli or small, crunchy holes. There are therefore some passages that can only be climbed purely. It’s a delight to be able to evolve in this atmosphere and on this rock.
After a 20-minute walk back to our cars, we’ll either go for a drink or continue with a second activity in the area.
