Le Rocher de Sion
Via-ferrata du Rocher de Sion: in the magnificent setting of the Thaurac, at the foot of the village of Saint-Bauzille-de-Putois.
The Rocher de Sion: wild and sensational!
The Rocher de Sion via-ferrata is shorter than the Thaurac via-ferrata opposite, but its character is wilder and more sensational.
It’s a mix between via-ferrata and rando-rappel.
Allow 1h for the via-ferrata, 45min for the abseiling and 35min for the chimney passage. The activity therefore takes 3 hours from car departure to car return (including return walk).

Description
It’s a 25-minute walk to the start of the via-ferrata’s characteristic rungs and rungs. The climb is very pleasant, with a breathtaking view of the Hérault river right beneath your feet.
Once at the top, you’ll be treated to an aerial tour of the North face, before embarking on the highlight of the show: the magnificent 50m abseiling descent! On the way down, you’ll be able to observe the various climbing routes on this magical face of Sion.
Once at the bottom, you can climb up a natural chimney to reach a natural ledge, which we’ll use to head for the activity’s exit.
The return journey is a leisurely one, with the option of a refreshing swim in the Hérault river.
It’s a compendium of everything you’d expect to find in a well-equipped via-ferrata.
