Naturéo Sport Aventure presents its nature discovery activities in the Hérault region this summer!

On the program, we offer you moments of freshness in the Hérault with our canyoning course “découverte du diable”. For a taste of heights and sensations, we propose the via ferrata of Thaurac. And if you want to learn how to move vertically, we can also offer you rock-climbing initiations on the water’s edge at the Moulin de Bertrand or Thaurac sites!

Hérault nature discovery activities: Devil’s canyoning at St Guilhem le désert!

Our star canyon is located in the Hérault department on the gorges road leading to the magnificent historic village of St Guilhem le désert. The canyon du diable is renowned for its aquatic character and accessibility. It’s the ideal discovery canyon for a family outing, with friends or in a group such as a works council. In fact, there are numerous workshops, including floating swims in the river’s strong flow, “splash” zip lines (which end in the water) and numerous jumps up to 10 m high. Jumps are not compulsory; everything can be circumvented. You can even try your hand at “psico-bloc”, climbing above the water, as well as a 15 m abseil!

This is a canyon that can be enjoyed from the age of 7. All you need is to be able to swim and bring your sneakers!

High altitude outdoor activities: The Thaurac via ferrata

Fancy a vertical hike? Via-ferrata is the perfect mix of thrills, views and physical effort!

The Thaurac via-ferrata is a lot of fun, thanks to its many aerial passages. You’ll cross monkey bridges, Himalayan bridges and zip lines. There are also passages through natural chimneys, under caves and, for the most intrepid, an impressive pendulum jump into the sunshine. A cable connected to the lanyards supplied by Naturéo ensures your safety all the way! All our services include the loan of recent, regularly serviced equipment. Safety is paramount at Naturéo sport Aventure.

This via-ferrata is open to children aged 8 and over!

Learning to move vertically: Climbing at Bertrand’s mill

Our third nature discovery activity for this summer is bare-hand climbing on natural rock faces. The Hérault department is a mine of limestone rock with major spots 30 km away! There are more than 10 major spots for progressing in a variety of climbing styles. Sport cliff climbing, long route climbing and natural bouldering. So here’s a particularly good spot for summer climbing: Le moulin de Bertrand.

Located next to a canoe-kayak base, the site is ideal for a 3-hour climbing session, followed by a refreshing swim at the end. The site boasts several introductory routes in the 4 th and 5 th degrees.

You’ll be introduced to top-roping and, for the more advanced climbers, perhaps to top-roping!

Rock climbing is open to everyone aged 10 and over!
