The Ravin des Arcs: an ephemeral magic!
Ravin des Arcs is a classified site Natura 2000. Many locals will have done this family hike, which catapults us into another world. We suggest you immerse yourself even further in this dream setting, with a canyoning descent to the geological formation that forms the arch. Immersed in the water, you’ll be able to admire the way it has sculpted the Jurassic limestone, as well as the way in which the water has formed the arch. natural reliefs shaped by time.
This canyon is only accessible at the beginning of the season, until mid-June, or even early July if the rainy season has been good. The water that flows through the canyon is called the Lamalou. It rises in the commune of Rouet and is fed exclusively by underground springs, which quickly fill it up during prolonged rains. Unfortunately, as the springs and resurgences diminish in volume, the canyon becomes emptier.
