DISCOVERY // INITATION
Description
– In the first part of this atypical canyon, you can admire the limestone sculpted by thousands of years of erosion. Resurgences from underground springs are visible on the descent. The Fontcaude spring, which flows into the Hérault river, is where we swim at the start of the season.
The cascadelles of the Hérault are a rare sight, as they are covered in tuff (a plant-like covering of mosses and ferns). A complex alchemy between the quality of the porous rock, the temperate climate and micro-organisms is responsible for this formation.
Classified as a Natura 2000 site, we can only admire this geological formation from below, swimming in the water.
– The second part, with its many surprises, is more popular from mid-July to the end of September. Its steepness is greater and its narrowness more pronounced, explaining its abundance of water even in dry periods.
In the heart of the Caroux: the Rec Grand is renowned for its crystal-clear water, deep pools and natural slides!
The Canyon du Vialais, located in the Héric gorges, is a course that will delight sports enthusiasts looking for a thrill.
The Canyon des Cascades d’Orgon is surprisingly wild and beautiful. It’s like entering a micro-world.
Close to Mont-Aigoual, the Tapoul canyon is one of the most famous in the region. It’s all fun and games!
Canyoning Ravin des Arcs: come and discover this ephemeral canyon at the start of the season, a true haven of peace.
