Canyoning has been around since the 1990s, and every summer it’s been a huge success. Our French regions are rich in a wide variety of canyoning sites. This fun activity is increasingly popular with young people eager to learn and experience new sensations.
What is the minimum age for canyoning at Naturéo Sport Aventure?
Children aged 7 and over can start canyoning. All we ask of our little champions is that they know how to swim. Our discovery courses have been designed so that it’s not compulsory to pass through workshops. Jumping is one of the best-known disciplines in canyoning. At the very beginning of the activity, we insist on “how to apprehend” a jump, which contains three phases. The take-off phase on the rock, the aerial phase in the air and finally the landing in the water. Several low jumps ranging from 1 to 3 m are performed at the start of the course. It’s essential to repeat this movement in order to integrate the new gesture and feel at ease. Then, depending on the guide’s advice, more substantial jumps are possible!

Canyoning, an ideal family activity!
Canyoning is a sensational activity that’s affordable for the whole family. As well as taking in the sights, you and your family can enjoy an extraordinary activity that will last a lifetime. Your family, a team united around outdoor activities. We insist on the fun aspect of canyoning. It’s an activity that requires a certain amount of concentration, but it’s always a lot of fun! Another discipline that our young “canyonists” really enjoy is zip-lining. Our flagship canyon du diable in St Guilhem le Désert is the ideal place for this.

If these few lines arouse your curiosity about this sensational sport, don’t hesitate to choose your future vacation destination where you can introduce your children to canyoning. The main spots in France: Gorges du Verdon, Ardèche, Gorges de l’Hérault, Corsica…
